Privacy Policy

The short version

We never sell your answers, and they never go to ad tools or analytics. We keep only what we need to send your plan, answer you and handle refunds.

What we collect

Calculator answers: household size, pets, stored water and food, backup power, your goal and, if you give it, your ZIP code. They are saved in your browser while you use the calculator. Your ZIP code (or state) is sent to our server only to look up local hazards and is not stored.

Your email, if you type it in. We keep the address (nothing else) in our email tool, Resend, to send you planning emails later - each with an unsubscribe link.

When you buy: your answers are sent to our server over a secure connection, encrypted there, and travel with your order so we can build your plan. If you skipped the ZIP code, the billing ZIP you give Stripe picks your local hazards instead. Your name, email and billing details go to Stripe, which processes the payment and saves your card for offers after payment. We never see your full card number. Email us any time to have the saved card removed.

Basic site analytics: page views and the names of steps like "calculator completed" - never your answers.

What we never do

We never sell or rent your answers or your email.

We never send your answers to analytics or ad platforms, and never put them in a web address.

Ad tools on our site run with their automatic data collection turned off.

Who helps us run the site

Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (keeps email addresses and sends your plan by email, with the PDF attached), and Google Tag Manager and Meta (analytics and ads, without your answers). Each handles only what its job needs.

Cookies and your browser

We save your calculator answers in your browser so they survive a reload, and set a small cookie after you buy so you are not offered the plan again. Clear your browser data to remove them.

How long we keep things

Order records (name, email, what you bought) are kept as long as tax and refund rules require. Your answers are not kept in a database: they live encrypted inside your order, and your plan can be downloaded again for 7 days after you buy.

Your choices

Email us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Marketing emails, when we send them, carry an unsubscribe link.

Children

The site is for adults planning for their household. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version and its date appear on this page.
